The Two Party System

The two party system as we now see it in the USA is problematic.  The partys themselves have too much power and control about the way things are done.  It is interesting to contemplate that we could abolish the entire party hierarchy without amending the constitution or passing any laws.  It is entirely outside of the bounds of the Constitution.  I don't know how we might go about it or how it would work but accomplishing that might be a good goal for the Tea Party and the OWS crowd to get together on and make some progress.

Just a thought.

An afterthought:  While the 2 party setup we are currently using is not working well for us.  It is probably infinitely better that would be a one party system 🙂

Compromise

Amend the Constitution

The Tea Party and It seems to me that both the Tea Party and the OWS crowds should have a convention and propose an array of constitutional amendments (a Second Bill of Rights?) to clarify the powers of the Federal Government, and solidify the Checks and balances so crucial to our Democratic Republic,  as well as perhaps clarify some issues of  "rights" that have been essentially fabricated by the courts.   Nobody likes the way things are run now, so maybe we could change it some and preserve the original spirit and essential structure.  Maybe put the stuff that should be run by the states back in their baliwick. 

Gay Marriage

Gay marriage – whatever. 

It is not really relevant what the president thinks about it.  If this is your litmus test for who you choose to vote for for president.  You are an idiot.  (It you are gay you might not be an idiot, probably a fool.) Unless he proposes amending the constitution or petitioning the Supreme court to make it a guaranteed civil right,  It is up to the states to decide.  The president really shouldn't be involved in this issue.  Our current POTUS  has a lot of much more important things he is not doing well.  He needs to work on some of them.    

Gay marriage will become a reality in a generation.  We just need to let nature take it;'s course, not get the federal government involved on this one.

I couldn't care less what homosexuals do, as long as they are not in my face with it .  I don't think it is a choice.  The same goes for Heterosexuals. But it seems like society shouldn't glorify homosexuality as somehow more noble or courageous than heterosexuality.  How is it so noble to be gay if it is not a choice? I guess I don't get that part either.
